FILM FESTIVAL: Hippies, Beatniks, and Rock & Rollers
Mondays in March, at 6:30 pm

Take a fun trip back to far-out experiences, teenage gangs, and screaming fans. Join staffer Chris Boerger for often-hilarious takes on American 1950s & 60s counterculture.

In tribute, The Soul Patches (Library staff) will perform far-out music & recite their own lighthearted groovy poetry before the March 7 film at 6:15 pm. Write your own, very short fun poem to perform with them! Crazy, man!

March 7: The Bloody Brood (1959)
A drug dealer falls in with beatniks & seeks dangerous thrills. Features a young Peter Falk. Plus, live music/poetry by The Soul Patches at 6:15 pm

March 14: The Party (1968)
A clumsy film extra is mistakenly invited to an exclusive, wild Hollywood party. Starring Peter Sellers.

March 21: Jailhouse Rock (1957)
A prisoner becomes a teenage rock star. Starring Elvis Presley.

March 28: The Beatniks (1960)
