Mondays in March, at 6:30 pm
Take a fun trip back to far-out experiences, teenage gangs, and screaming fans. Join staffer Chris Boerger for often-hilarious takes on American 1950s & 60s counterculture.
In tribute, The Soul Patches (Library staff) will perform far-out music & recite their own lighthearted groovy poetry before the March 7 film at 6:15 pm. Write your own, very short fun poem to perform with them! Crazy, man!
March 7: The Bloody Brood (1959)
A drug dealer falls in with beatniks & seeks dangerous thrills. Features a young Peter Falk. Plus, live music/poetry by The Soul Patches at 6:15 pm
March 14: The Party (1968)
A clumsy film extra is mistakenly invited to an exclusive, wild Hollywood party. Starring Peter Sellers.
March 21: Jailhouse Rock (1957)
A prisoner becomes a teenage rock star. Starring Elvis Presley.
A promising young performer gets mixed up with the wrong crowd. Starring Peter Breck.
All movies are shown in large-screen digital projection, and start promptly at 6:30 pm.
