FILM: Bloodtober - Flick or Treat
Mondays in October at 6:30 pm

It’s that time of year when kids wear masks, pumpkins get faces, and people put giant inflatable Frankensteins in their yards.
What better way to get into the evil spirit of things than to watch a scary movie or five?

From homicidal hotel keepers to gargantuan gorillas, The Grandview Library has all your horror bases covered. Join staffer Chris Boerger for a collection of great horror films…if you dare!

October 3: King Kong (1933)
A film crew captures a giant beast who fights to save a beautiful woman. One of AFI’s Top 100.

October 10:
Psycho (1960)
A peculiar motel manager makes a woman’s stay unpleasant. Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Starring Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh.

October 17:
The Wolf Man (1941)
A werewolf bites a man, who inherits the curse. Featuring Lon Chaney, Jr., Claude Rains, and Bela Lugosi.

October 24:
Strait-Jacket (1964)
Released from an asylum stay for murder, a woman  is accused of a killing spree. Starring Joan Crawford.

October 31:
A Bucket of Blood (1959)
A square becomes hip after discovering a deadly talent. Directed by horror comedy king Roger Corman. ***Come early at 6:15 pm for a short performance by staff band The Soulless Patches - scary beatnik poetry accompanied by terrifying musical cacophony!***

All movies are shown in large-screen projection, and start promptly at 6:30 pm.
