Digital books for the print-disabled
Digital Downloads (our collection of downloadable books, movies and music) features a new service for print-disabled patrons!
Qualifying Grandview Library patrons can sign up for a free, one-year membership to Bookshare (a collection of digital books for the print-disabled) through Digital Downloads, in a collaboration called the Library eBook Accessibility Program (LEAP).
Features include:
- 20 downloads per month for 12 months.
- Choose from over 60,000 books, including bestsellers, magazines and newspapers.
- DAISY and Braille formats that can be read with computers, assistive reading devices, Braille printers, and even MP3 players!
- Free Victor Reader Soft and Read:OutLoud reading software that you can install onto your home computer.
Note: Proof of print disability must come from a certified professional.
