Fine limit changing to $10
The difficult economic situation in which all businesses, government entities, individuals and families find themselves today has necessitated reconsideration of certain Library policies.
In an attempt to enhance Library revenues without making cuts to programs & services, the Board of Trustees of the Grandview Heights Public Library has adjusted the maximum cumulative total of fines & other fees at which a patron’s Library card will be blocked from further use.
A new fine limit will be set at $10 beginning June 15, 2009.
Beginning June 15, your Library card will be blocked when you owe $10 or more.
- Once your account reaches the $10 limit, your borrowing privileges will be temporarily revoked until a full or partial payment of fees or fines is received.
- Please pay down fines $10 or above before the new limit is enacted.
All Library materials may be borrowed for standard loan periods without cost. Only if a Library item is returned after its due date (or if it is lost and therefore not returned) is a fine and/or fee charged to the borrower’s account.
Thank you for keeping your account current!
AVOID FINES & FEES!
- Ask for a printed receipt. It shows the titles & due dates of your items.
- Go online. Check the status of your items at My Account.

Renew by 11:30 pm on the due date to avoid fines.
• By bringing items in person to the Library. - Use the book drops. Items returned in our book drops before the Library opens incur no overdue fines that day. Items will incur a fine if returned in a book drop after 9 am Monday-Saturday, or after 1 pm on Sundays (when the Library is open).
- Hang on to your Library card. There is a $1 fee for a replacement card.
- Keep track of your items. Fees for a lost item checked out on your card are the replacement cost of that item, plus a $10 processing fee.
