Pick-up day is Saturday, May 4, from noon-2 pm, on the Library Lawn!

No extra plants will be for sale this day. Prepayment was required and orders closed on Monday, April 15.

Bellows talk with Columbus Museum of Art

 

Enjoy a presentation about artist George Bellows with the Columbus Museum of Art (CMA) on Tuesday, April 30, from 7-8 pm!

George Bellows left Columbus in 1904 to take the New York art world by storm. In just five short years, he was considered among the nation’s most respected artists.

CMA’s Curator of American Art Melissa Wolfe will discuss the cultural and artistic reasons for this Columbus native’s fame in her talk George Bellows and Painting Modern America.

This special event celebrates the exhibit George Bellows and the American Experience, on view at CMA August 23, 2013—January 4, 2014.

Presented by: CMA, GH/MC Historical Society, and The Village of Marble Cliff (once home to relatives of Bellows), and the Grandview Library.

May 17-21: Library card required

 

Our computer system will experience disruptions May 17-21 as it is upgraded to prepare for new library partners joining the Central Ohio Library Consortium (CLC), which will double the titles these library systems currently offer.
While patrons can still check out materials while our system is offline during this time, patrons will need to present their Grandview Library card to check out materials.
Also, during this time:
  • The online catalog will be available for searching only.
  • Unavailable through our catalog:
    • Account management
    • Holds
    • Fine payments
    • Renewals
    • Status/availabilty of items
  • Items will not be due.
  • Most services in our Digital Library will be unvailable, such as Digital Downloads, Freegal, and Zinio.
  • Other library services may be affected, including our website.

Internet computers in Reference and WiFi are expected to be functional.

All CLC library systems (including new partners) will offline during this time.

We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to welcoming new libraries to the consortium and offering patrons many more materials!

Ludlum receives Community Service Award

 

Grandview Library Director Mary Ludlum has received the 2013 Community Service Award from the Grandview Area Chamber of Commerce!

The Chamber presented its yearly awards at its Spring Cha-Ching Gala at the Hollywood Casino on Friday, March 29, 2013.

The award was presented to Ludlum for her many years service to the Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff community. Her husband Dan and their son Stephen, along with library supporters, were part of the 200 in attendence to celebrate the awards ceremony. The event also featured master of ceremonies WBNS 10TV news anchor Kurt Ludlow, a silent auction, and live music.

Ludlum has worked at the Grandview Library for more than 30 years. She has been Director for the past five years and served as Assistant Director for many years before that. She is retiring in August 2013.

Thank you to the Chamber for recognizing Ludlum’s amazing committment to community and dedication to serving the public!
