Explore local legends with free History Walks app

Explore local legends with the free History Walks app!

Take self-guided walking tours of Grandview Heights and Marble Cliff that explore fascinating local history, inspiring landmarks, and notable people.

History Walks is a free app that connects you to the past as you stroll the neighborhood.

Learn about the former residence of Prescott Bush (father and grandfather of two U.S. Presidents), homes by famed architect Frank Packard, and more. The app offers a unique, fun, and engaging way to explore these two communities, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Walking, running, or biking the tour routes is a great way to enjoy this app.

History Walks is a collaboration between the Grandview Heights/Marble Cliff Historical Society and the Grandview Heights Public Library. This ongoing project promotes local history, outdoor activity, and community.

Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Four free tours guide you through five to nine historical stops. Each tour is approximately two miles long and will take around 1.5 hours to complete on foot. Additional themed tours will be added to the app in the future.

The Society and the library have a long history of collaboration, including educational events at the library and special projects like the Interactive Historical Timeline touchscreen.
